The Dorothy Cooper Organ Prize

The Dorothy Cooper Organ Prize

Former Club member, Dorothy Cooper, who died in 2014, has made a bequest to the Royal Academy of Music to endow an organ competition.  Dorothy had qualified at the Academy during the Second War.  Her daughter says, “She enjoyed her organ playing and kept a close association with the Academy.”

There will be an award of the Dorothy Cooper prize for the first time on Wednesday 27 April at 1900 in Duke’s Hall at the Academy, Marylebone Road, London NW1 5HT.  David Titterington, Head of Organ, will be organising the competition.
